NodeMCU boards made the ESP8266 famous: a cheap 80/160 MHz Wi-Fi microcontroller with 4 MB flash, a USB port and breadboard-friendly pins. This Amica-style V2 board is narrow enough to leave a row free on each side of a breadboard and uses the reliable CP2102 USB chip. It runs Arduino sketches, MicroPython, Tasmota and ESPHome, making it a favourite for simple smart-home devices.
