PlastiBytes is committed to building vibrant technology communities across Africa through maker spaces, innovation hubs, and comprehensive community engagement programs. We help communities establish the infrastructure, skills, and networks needed to foster local innovation and entrepreneurship.
Our community engagement approach focuses on creating self-sustaining ecosystems where local talent can access tools, training, and mentorship to develop innovative solutions for local challenges. We work with schools, universities, local governments, and community organizations to build lasting impact.
Each community program is customized to local needs and resources, incorporating both high-tech and appropriate technology solutions. We emphasize hands-on learning, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and community-driven problem solving.
Our community programs have reached over 5,000 young people across 25 communities, established 12 maker spaces, and supported the launch of over 100 community-based enterprises and social enterprises.
We design community programs with long-term sustainability in mind, including revenue generation activities, local leadership development, and partnerships with educational institutions and local businesses.
